Slide-show on phosphorecent screen
80 b&w slides
This slide-show disperses one by one and splits up, with its 80 views, the almost choregraphic movements of two judokas. Shot from a black and white film from 1910, the slides show us Jigoro Kano and his disciple making different katas.
The rythmical succession of the luminous pictures is slowly reproduced by the support of the screening iself: a phosphorescent screen. The screened picture and the persistent picture, just like the spectre of figures from the past, are superimposed on one another in a confusing simultaneity.
