Through the juxtaposition of two sound sources, the installation Disques d’or-Voyager live presents the invisible links that connect us today to the space probes Voyager and the Golden Record project. At first they are whirling sounds above our heads, at 360 degrees, the waves transmitted by the probe. Then, it is a music, that of 1977, or rather musics, selected at the time by Pr Carl Sagan’s team. That unlikely “best-of” of humanity fills a glass cage standing in the centre of the room, like a capsule of sounds, a capsule of time. Finally it is a ground covered as it is with survival blankets.
